Recommended Prior LearningStudents need to have independent reading and writing skills from Y12 English.
This course is university approved and for the student who would like to be university bound. This course has a pre-requisite which means that a student must have passed 14 plus achievement standards in Y12 English. Students need to have a level of independence in their reading and writing skills. There is provision to develop critical response, analysis skills of written and visual texts. Students will develop expository writing and report writing skills. There are two examinations in this course.
Course Overview
Term 1
Students will develop a writing portfolio and begin to work on connecting texts completing them by the end of the term.
Term 2
Students will closely read film and complete a film essay.
Term 3
The writing portfolio will be graded. Students will study for two examinations.
Term 4
Students will finish preparing for examinations.
Assessment Information
This course comprises three internal level 3 achievement standards, and two external achievement standards.
