Recommended Prior Learning

Full participation in Year 10 Health


Level 1 Hauora learning:

- Exploring how cultural activites such as Polyfest, Kapa haka & Te Matatini can enhance the wellbeing of ourselves, others and the community. 

- Understanding the decisions that we make will always impact our hauora, in a positive or negative way.     

- Investigating how different external factors can affect our hauora 

- Exploring different strategies to help enhance our hauora.

       


    


Course Overview

Term 1
Students will be looking either participating or investigating how cultural events such as Polyfest, Te Matatini or Kapa Haka enhance the hauora of themselves, others and the community.

Term 2
Students will explore how decison making can have positive or negative consequences and how this can affect the hauora of themselves, others and society.

Term 3
Students will investigate different social, political, economical, environmental and cultural factors and how these factors influence the hauora of themselves, others and the community.

Term 4
This term will be continuing to prepare for your external exams
