Mathematics and Statistics

At Māngere College we support our students in learning, from basic math skills for everyday life through to preparing students for further study. Students are encouraged to use technological tools appropriately and effectively in math lessons. Year 9 and 10 students are encouraged to be part of team Mathematics competitions for some of our South Auckland schools.

There are opportunities for senior students to attend Pacific Academy. This is an initiative run by the University of Auckland for students who are preparing for math and statistics externals. We continue to encourage students to sign up and take part as it complements the learning in the classroom.
