3 Mathematics with Calculus

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs A. Lakhan.

This course is based on Levels 7 and 8 of Mathematics in the New Zealand Curriculum. It builds on work done in Mathematics at Year 12 and provides Mathematical grounding for further study at Tertiary level. This course comprises of both Internal and External standards that contribute to the total credits. 

This course is a University recognized subject, contributes to Numeracy  and is eligible for Course endorsement.

Term 1
Apply linear programming methods in solving problems.

Apply differentiation methods in solving problems

Term 2
Apply systems of simultaneous equations in solving problems.

Apply trigonometric methods in solving problems.

Term 3
Apply integration methods in solving problems

Apply the algebra of complex numbers in solving problems.

Term 4
Revision for externals
External Exams

Recommended Prior Learning

Pass at least one of the two Externals - Algebra or Calculus                       

Teacher recommendation/HOD approval.
