Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

 Students should have taken 2 DPD or 2ART.                                          

       


    


Students will continue to expand and develop their product  or architectural design skills allowing them to showcase their talents and exhibit their work. The design process will be extensively applied to situations requiring design solutions and students will have the opportunity to improve their computer aided design work, visual communication and drawing skills.                                               

       


    


Course Overview

Term 1
Topic: Sports and Recreation Center
Assessment: A.S. 91608 v3 Generic Technology 3.1 - Undertake brief development to address an issue within a determined context.
Students to research and investigate sports and recreation centers. Students to write a report of their new re-designed sports and recreation center that is fit for purpose.

Term 2
Topic: Sports and Recreation Center
Assessment A.S. 91627 v3 Design and Visual Communication 3.30 - Initiate design ideas through exploration.
Student to choose a sea creature and use exploration techniques to redesign a sports and recreation center.

Term 3
Topic: Sports and Recreation Center
Assessment: A.S. 91629 v3 Design and Visual Communication 3.32 - Resolve a spatial design through graphics practice
Students to produce a portfolio of work with different concepts of their proposed sports and recreation center.

Term 4
Prepare portfolio work for externals.
