Careers encompasses a Year 12 & 13 school wide program which involves a series of unit standards that lead to self-awareness, financial capability, employment, allowing students to understand fundamental information and skills to equip themselves for the world outside of school.

Our careers department assists students in work placements to gain practical experience that can lead to part-time or full-time employment. As you gain more experience in the worlds of work and life, you are building your career. It also involves other commitments outside of school such as life roles, volunteer work, community involvement or extra curricular activities.

Our goal is to prepare our students to make an informed transition into further studies or employment so when you leave school you are prepared and well informed.

STAR & GATEWAY

For students interested in participating in STAR & GATEWAY will have the opportunity to attend work-place experience during school time and or the school holidays. By going on placements students will be able to gain Unit standard credits that will go towards NCEA level 2 and NCEA level 3.

EXTERNAL PROVIDERS

TERTIARY PATHWAYS

Our Careers Department also supports students regarding tertiary study and how to enroll. We provide a variety of information sessions where we get institutions to come and speak to our students so they can get a better understanding of what they have to offer.

Pursuing higher education can be challenging so we want to ensure our students are supported and are aware of their options and know what they would like to study. Once students know what they would like to study we encourage all students to complete enrolment applications and scholarship applications.
