Our careers department assists students to explore potential pathway, provide skill sets and work experience. We keep our students accountable by practicing responsibility through interactive workshops that builds towards their career goals.
Our services include but not limited to: Driver's License, Forklift License, CV/ Cover letter writing, Scholarship/ Admission applications, Gateway, MCPA (Vocation academy), Fundamental school offsite learning (school trips), Short courses, Careers counselling and Information sessions.
Our goal is to prepare our students to make an informed transition into further studies, vocations or employment so when you leave school you are prepared and well informed.

TERTIARY PATHWAYS
Year 11, Year12 & Year13
Our Careers & Pathways department also support students wanting to pursue tertiary study and the process that follows. We provide a variety of information sessions where we get institutions to come and speak to our students so they can get a better understanding of what they have to offer.
Pursuing higher education can be challenging so we want to ensure our students are well informed and are aware of their options. Once students know what they would like to study we encourage all students to complete enrolment applications and scholarship applications to secure their place in their chosen programs.
MANGERE COLLEGE PATHWAY ACADEMY (MCPA)
Year 13
We have rebranded Trades Academy to MCPA and officially launched in 2023. MCPA is designed to assist Year 13 students that are interested in pursuing a vocational pathway.
This is a great way for students to engage through practical learning and get first-hand experience while completing standards that go towards NCEA Level 3. Students wanting to enroll into MCPA must complete the necessary requirements in order to be considered.
"MCPA has been a huge support for me in setting up my future career pathway. I am confident that once I complete MCPA it will give me the fundamental tools I need in the real world. MCPA has given me the means to achieve both in school and in my construction course, with the hopes of gaining an apprenticeship by the end of the school year."
Zach Matia (MCPA student 2023)
