Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr N. Padavatan.
This is a career related course that gives students the opportunity to further develop their skills in the preparation for moving into the trades, further study or an apprenticeship. Your ability to safely and correctly use mechanical engineering tools, machinery and materials are a key focus of this course.

Topic: BBQ
Unit Standard 32052 version1. Level 3
Demonstrate knowledge of and produce development drawings and patterns for three-dimensional objects in MaPS environment
Student will manually draw patterns of a truncated cone.
Term 2
Topic: BBQ
Unit Standard 32054 v1 Level 3
Produce components by performing engineering machining operations in MaPS environment.
Students will machine the components of the outdoor BBQ using the lathe and the milling machine.
Term 3
Topic: BBQ
Unit Standard 32056 v1 Level 3
Perform fabrication operations in MaPS environment.
Students will make the BBQ using the machinery in the workshop.
Term 4
Topic: BBQ
Completion of the BBQ and its components.
Recommended Prior Learning
Students must have taken 2MET or gain HOD approval.

Pathway
The skills gained in this course will enable you to gain employment as a Product Designer, Fabricator, Welder, Mechanical Engineering Technician.
