In this course we will analyse unemployment issues, analyse statistical data relating to economic issues and look at how government policies and contemporary economic issues interact. Students will learn about fiscal policies, monetary policies and other policies used by the government to solve economic problems of the economy. We will look at how economy changed post Covid19
Course Overview
Term 1
In Term 1 students learn basic concepts in Economics. From week 3 to week 7 students learn about employment and unemployment and how it affect individual and markets and companies. Factors that affect wages and effect of minimum wages. Types of employment. week 8 students are given an assessment which they can finish by end of the term. 5 credits
Term 2
Term two is about government intervention and about government policy that stabilizes the price rise and inflation. First 7 weeks the topic is taught and then students are given an assessment to complete by end of the term. 6 credits
Term 3
Economic contemporaries issues of the countries are learnt and it will students last assessment. 4 credit assessment. Revision for their external
